Marriage Enrichment Classes

    Are you a recently married couple suddenly finding that marriage is not what you thought it would be? Are you a long-time couple that feels the magic is gone or that your partner just doesn’t understand you? Maybe you feel happy in your relationship but are looking to deepen your love and understanding of one another. Maybe one of you is struggling with something that your partner just doesn’t feel equipped to help with alone.

   We offer marriage enrichment classes to couples for those who are interested in exploring a deeper connection with one another. Our classes are couple-based, Bible-centered and psychologically sound. 

   Whether you are going through a rough patch or just want to explore ways of having a deeper, more robust connection, we are here to help. 

   We incorporate one-on-one sessions coupled with a marriage assessment questionaire in order to provide sound, quality feedback to help couples gain a new perspective of their relationship with their spouses, putting God in the middle of all. The pastor will go over the results of the assessment with the couple in a comfortable, neutral setting over the course of several sessions, so that couples have the opportunity to digest and grow with the new insights provided. We only ask that the couple commit to at least six sessions that they schedule when convenient for them. 

COST OF THE CLASSES

   There is NO COST for this program for members of the church. There is a $75 fee for the assessment. However there is no cost for the services of the pastor. We do ask that the participants make a donation to the church in ANY AMOUNT to cover the costs of the program. Neither the church nor its members recieves any of the proceeds from the cost of the assessment. This fee is paid directly to Connected Marriages. 

ABOUT THE PASTOR 

   Brian Wattenbarger has been a certified professional mediator since 2011, employing his skills at his airline as a member and instructor for their Professional Standards Committee. He is also a certified Critical Incident Stress Management facilitator, having been trained in 1997 by the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation. He utilized his training to help his fellow Emergency Medical Services workers in Kansas City and later at his airline, developing and growing the CISM team there for both pilots and flight attendants.  

   Brian has been trained and certified by Connected Marriages as a Marriage Mentor and, coupled with his mediation skills, is fully capable and qualified to provide these services to those who need or desire them. He is also trained and certified by SYMBIS as a premarital counseling facilitator. Brian has his Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Maryland and takes seminary classes from both the Koinonia Institute and Christian Leadership International College. 

     The Marriage Enrichment program is a great way to ensure that your relationship is strengthened and grows.
